Columbia Classical Performers
Founded in 2001, Columbia Classical Performers seeks to bring together Columbia's community of classical musicians who wish to perform in an intimate, stress-free environment for their peers. CCP creates performance opportunities by providing on-campus venues, coordinating recital logistics, publicizing events, and planning post-concert receptions. CCP serves a dual purpose: to give musicians an outlet where they can share their music with the public, and to provide the Columbia community with free, high-quality classical music.
Along with creating concert opportunities, we also provide an extensive network of classical musicians in the community. If you are looking for fellow dedicated musicians to join your chamber group or perform your newest composition, you've come to the right place. Vocalists and instrumentalists looking for accompanists can also reach potential collaborators through CCP. Additionally, we also provide video recording and photography at our concerts.
Off-campus, we maintain spirited annual collaborations with Princeton's Opus 21 and Harvard's Brattle Street Chamber Players. We also run a student initiative with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, in which CMS offers us extremely discounted tickets for three concerts a semester.
